The Aldgate bar stool is a clever synthesis of authentic bentwood techniques, spindle back furniture and contemporary design. The Aldgate bar stool is made using the original techniques pioneered in the 19th century by Michael Thonet. It is made by hand and machine, using traditional methods and steamed bentwood. The beech for this way of manufacturing needs to be of the highest grade to withstand the steaming and bending processes. The wood is harvested responsibly from managed forests in Europe and complies with all EU timber regulations. This is reflected in the intergrity and performance of the product.
